During the first half of the course, students design and implement their own research project (field of subject can vary) while learning the skills that go into research.  For the majority of the first half students will design and execute their own research project which will be showcased at St. Andrew's Research Symposium and possibly at Austin's Regional Science Fair, an affiliate of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF).  Topics that will be covered will include: statistics, ethics/ safety, graphing/ Excel, literature review, peer review, and the use of a lab notebook.
