Molarity is defined as the number of moles of solute dissolved in one liter (L) of solution. It is represented by the symbol "M" and is expressed in units of moles per liter (mol/L) or moles per cubic decimeter (mol/dm³).
The formula to calculate molarity is:
Molarity (M) = Number of moles of solute (mol) / Volume of solution (L)
